What’s The Big Deal With Morning Routines?

There seems to be a lot of fuss around morning routines.

And I get it, it is important to set up your day in the right way.

However, trying to journal; drink kombucha, exercise, visualise, stretch, meditate, eat organic lettuce, make your bed, have a cold shower, read and the million things that are suggested to us is just not feasible.

In my opinion we need to get our heart and our head in the right place, meaning getting yourself into the state of ‘being’ which you aim for in life.

Said in another way, having your thoughts, emotions and energy aligned with your physical and spiritual intentions.

To put it very simply, to focus on your internal condition.

Look, you’ve got to know yourself and what’s best for the way you are. Perhaps you do want to exercise in the morning, perhaps you have 2 – 3 hours to do all the things we’re ‘supposed’ to be doing and that’s all good. You do you.

What I find works for me, is taking time for inner work in the morning. Taking the time to meditate. In this type of meditation I focus on my state of being, what is the energetic condition that I wish to bring into my life?

For me, I work on unconditional lovingness. That’s the energy I most enjoy and I feel I operate my best at my work, in my friendships, with my kids, in my training, with the family and so on.

So I enter into this state of being consciously every morning and rest in this condition from anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes.

And that is my morning routine.

Having practiced this for quite some time I have observed changes physically, emotionally, mentally, financially, spiritually – basically in every area of my life.

The more I focus on becoming this energy, the more life flows with greater ease, simplicity and joy.

I’m not saying that you’ll need to become unconditional love, but what I am suggesting is that you focus on what is most important first.

So if happiness is what you want or if success is what you’re after, or joy is what you’re seeking, then spend the time to program yourself at the beginning of each day before you go into the same daily patterns and routines which you are so used to.

If you wish to you can couple this energetic condition with whatever your vision of your future may be. Perhaps you’re building a business, being a better parent, finding that romantic someone or whatever it might be you can envision this as well.

The thing is, it’s the internal energetic condition which powers all actions. All of your actions (doing) are a natural consequence of your inner condition (being). Hence the most important thing to focus on is the inner condition which leads to the actions you are looking for.

Let me put it another way, if you want to be successful, be a success. If  you want to be happy, then feel happiness. You already know what most emotions and energies feel like and those feelings came from within you. The point is that they are inside you, you just need to bring your awareness to it and allow that energy to take over.

No matter how much theory you read about this concept of being vs doing, you’ll never truly know what it means until you taste it. So, if you want to know the truth of this I will suggest you try the meditation below for the next 21 days.

The more you bring yourself into your Highest Intention, your new state of being, that heightened energy that you wish to become, the resultant feelings that you will ‘get’ from some accomplishment, the more you hardwire you’re biology to become that condition.

So give it a shot. What have you got to lose?
