So I rocked up to the Academy on Thursday afternoon and as I walked up the stairs something felt amiss.

Books were thrown off the shelf and the grate on the office door had been broken off. When I entered the office to my surprise, drawers were open, papers were on the floor and I realised that we had been robbed.

My laptop was missing, hard drives were gone. I just realised this morning that my camera was taken as well.

This is not a sob story for your sympathy, but just an update and lesson which has come with it.

I was having a chat with one of the student’s parents and he told me that in his country they have a saying, “When they rob you, don’t let them rob your energy”.

What did he mean by that?

You see, he explained it well. His father was a business owner who was also the victim of a robbery and within 6 or so months his business closed down.

He said the problem was that the robbers robbed him of his energy.

He was complaining, upset, angry, frustrated and generally not happy with what had happened.

People robbing you of your energy doesn’t have to just be the robbing of your belongings, it can be when they insult you, cheat you, betray you, gossip about you, complain about you and so on and so forth.

So, in any of these situations you can be robbed of your energy.

So we had about 4 or 5 thousand dollars of property stolen, but I refuse to let them steal my energy and I hope for you that you don’t let anyone steal yours either.

Any feeling or thought that we have towards others instantly is felt within oneself. So hatred, complaint, blame, fear, anxiety, resentment and revenge all punish you on the instant that they are brought to ones mind.

So once again, don’t let them rob you.

Wishing you much happiness and health.

P.s. If you are the robber, I have a special message for you, “I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for ransom I can tell you I don’t have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you return my laptop and camera that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will kill you.”

I’ve always wanted to use that line haha!
